Choose Courage Over Confidence

People often see me as someone fairly confident. The truth? My confidence isn’t universal. In some areas, I’m solid, maybe even overly confident 😂. But there are plenty of situations where I freeze.

Here’s the trick that helps me fake it: I choose courage over confidence. I just do the thing, even if I’m only half-ready.

Do I look like a fool sometimes? Probably. I certainly feel like it. But the reality? Nobody is as concerned with it as I am.

The best part about choosing courage? It breeds confidence. Confidence is a byproduct of action. The more brave things you do, the more confidence you build. And that confidence? It transfers. From your job to the gym, from speaking up to showing up.

As Anaïs Nin said, “Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.” Take the leap, your confidence will catch up and build up.
