Imposter Syndrome: You’re not Fooling Anyone (and That’s a Good Thing)

Imposter syndrome—that unhelpful inner critic that nags, Am I good enough? Am I qualified enough? What if everyone finds out I’m a fraud?
A few days ago, I was at a networking event, and things got unexpectedly deep and vulnerable. I found myself admitting, out loud, that I struggle with imposter syndrome.
That’s when this fabulous lady leaned in really close, completely bursting my personal space bubble—but instead of feeling annoying, it felt warm. She looked at me intently, her face full of surprise, and said, YOU? Imposter syndrome? You’re about the most beautiful and engaging thing I’ve seen.
She definitely made my day! But more than that, she made me realize something important: as long as you are being you, you cannot be an imposter. Sharing your journey, your experiences, your wins, and your failures is what makes you authentic.
As long as you are being you, you cannot be an imposter—guaranteed, you are the most qualified person for that job!
